Asian company EVA Air, based in Taiwan, is an impeccable international airline that provides passenger flights throughout the world. They made their debut in the late 1980s and continue to be a mostly privately owned airline. Investors from all over the world have gambled on the success of his company which has done extremely well. The home office of this company is actually based in Taiwan in a city called Luzhu. The individual that is in charge of all operations and business management is none other than Chang Kuo-wei who is the company president. Most of the more technical aspects of business management are handled by the board members under Chang Kuo-wei's supervision. Lin Bou-shiu is the chairman of EVA as of 2011 and is the go to person in regard to leadership and direction. Increased revenue for the company over the last few years has been a result of deviating from only passenger carrier flights. Expansion was the main goal of EVA, especially at the turn of the millennium. Expansion requires enough airplanes and airliners to cover all of the business that you were going to want to do. Adding four 777-300ER airliners to their regimen allowed them to expand internationally with long-range flights. Adding an additional group of Boeing 777 variants contributed to their success. EVA was looking to provide destinations to the US and Europe; hence the long range aircraft. Also, they placed orders for Airbus A330-200 aircraft and designated them for Asian destination service.

With the intention of expanding into the international market, the VA contracted with McDonnell Douglas for more planes. After taking receivership of Boeing 747-400 airliners, international flights to LA were made available. A favorable aspect of EVA's plans are the premium economy class cabins made available to patrons. They even included additional legroom in their airliners for passengers.
